The Ross Lion's Club is a service organization that was established in 1957. Our mission is to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation.
TO PROMOTE the principles of good government and good citizenship.
TO TAKE an active interest in the civic, cultural, social, and moral welfare of the community.
TO UNITE the clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship, and mutual understanding.
TO ENCOURAGE service minded people to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works, and private endeavors.
The Checkered Clown Pants is for the Ross Scool District 3rd graders our club sends to the Shriner's Circus each year, an activity our club has done for over 40 years. The Eye Glasses are for the eye glasses we collect yearly and for our financial help for the site impaired school children and residents of the greater Ross community in need of glasses. The White Rose is in remembrance of our Lion brothers that have passed. The Red Rosses are for our annual Rose Sale Fundraiser; an event that is widely accepted and supported by the community. The Easter Eggs represent our annual Easter Egg hunt held for the kids of the greater Ross area. The Golf Clubs represent our annual golf tournament fund raiser. The Ohio Symbol is in honor of Past District Governors, Lion James Noble & Lion Raymond Miller from our club and also represents our original Past Governor's pin which was in shape of Ohio. The Red Apple represents the apple cider and donuts we pass out to the "trick-or-treaters" on Halloween each year for the past 30+ years. The Hog represents our annual Lions Club Hog Roast, an event that we have organized for over 35 years. The Red Vest represents the vest we wear to each meeting and activity, which is well recognized throughout our community.
